Free Diet Analysis: Your Path to Healthier Teeth and Gums

Your diet plays a major role in your oral health. From tooth decay and gum disease to acid erosion, the foods and drinks you consume can either support a strong, healthy smile or quietly contribute to dental problems. That’s why we’ve developed a comprehensive Diet Analysis Tool—to help you uncover any hidden risks in your daily habits and give you a personalised roadmap to better oral health.

Changing small things in your diet now, even if it’s as simple as the timings of certain foods, can save you from costly dental treatment in the future.

Why Diet Matters for Your Oral Health

Most of us know that sugary foods can lead to cavities and decay, but many everyday dietary choices affect our teeth and gums in less obvious ways:

  • Tooth Decay: Frequent snacking, high sugar intake, and certain processed foods can fuel cavity-causing bacteria in your mouth, leading to decay over time.

  • Gum Disease: Diets low in essential nutrients like vitamin C and fibre can compromise your gum health, leaving you more susceptible to inflammation and gum disease.

  • Acid Erosion: Acidic foods and beverages—like citrus fruits, soda, and even some teas—can wear down the enamel, leading to sensitivity, discolouration, and a higher risk of cavities.

How Our Diet Analysis Tool Can Help

With our Diet Analysis Tool, you simply upload your diet history, and one of our experienced dentists will review it carefully. From here, you’ll receive a personalised report highlighting:

  • Specific Risks: Insight into particular foods and habits that may increase your risk of tooth decay, gum disease, or acid erosion.

  • Tailored Recommendations: Practical guidance to adjust your diet for better oral health. Whether it’s advice on reducing acidic foods, limiting sugar, or incorporating more gum-friendly nutrients, our recommendations are designed to be easy to implement.

Perfect for High-Risk Individuals

If you’re at a higher risk for dental issues, this tool is especially valuable. Maybe you’ve had cavities before, or perhaps you’re prone to gum problems or enamel erosion. By identifying and addressing hidden risks in your diet, you can take meaningful steps toward a healthier mouth and avoid future issues.

How to Complete Your Diet Diary

To get the most accurate insights from your diet diary, make sure you capture the following essential details. Aim to keep this record for a full week if possible, but if not, please try to cover at least two weekdays and one weekend day.

Key Information to Capture

  1. Wake-Up Time

    • Note the exact time you wake up each day. This helps us understand your eating and hygiene routines in the context of your daily schedule.

  2. Tooth Brushing Times

    • Record the time(s) you brush your teeth each day (morning, after meals, and before bed if applicable). Remember to include mouthwash use as well.

  3. Bedtime

    • Record the time you go to bed. This helps us see your day as a whole, from wake-up to bedtime.

  4. What You Eat and When

    • For each meal or snack, write down:

      • Time: When did you eat?

      • Meal/Snack Details: What exactly did you eat? Please be as specific as possible (e.g., "12:30 PM – Grilled chicken salad with tomatoes and cucumbers").

  5. What You Drink and When

    • Record all beverages, including water:

      • Time: When did you drink it?

      • Drink Details: Specify the type (e.g., "Water, coffee with sugar, orange juice") and amount if possible.

Quick Tips for Recording

  • Use a Notes or a Health App: Track your entries in Apple Notes, MyFitnessPal, or a similar app. This lets you log details in real-time and easily review your day. Apple notes allow syou to make simple tables very easily.

  • Take Screenshots: At the end of each day, take screenshots of your entries. This way, you can simply share the images with us.

Capturing these specific details over multiple days gives us a clear picture of your habits, allowing us to provide the most helpful recommendations for your oral health.
